Job summary

Advocate Health's Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care in a fast-paced Endoscopy Center. This full-time role requires working a 40-hour week with on-call duties, typically during 0600-1800 hours, and one Saturday per month.

Minimum requirement includes a High School Diploma or GED. Gastroenterology Associate certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire; no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Gastroenterology Associate certification required within 18 months after hire.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience required: None.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-, intra-, and post-procedure support for the endoscopy team and ensures appropriate patient care.
• Pre-cleans endoscopes and prepares equipment, ensuring high-level disinfection and proper transfer to the RN for processing.
• Assists the nurse with patient care tasks such as vital signs, monitors, and supplies as needed.
• Acts as a resource and preceptor for new endoscopy techs and helps orient staff on procedures and supplies.
• Manages supplies and equipment usage, ensuring proper cleaning and inventory control and reporting faulty equipment.
• Admits, discharges or transfers patients within the Endoscopy Center and assists with patient positioning.
