Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for Advocate Lutheran General Hospital's GI lab. This part-time role supports patient care during endoscopy procedures, assists with room setup, specimen handling, and post-procedure tasks under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, decontamination per SGNA standards, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and efficient lab flow.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience in patient care preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: basic computer skills, good communication, and ability to handle fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient patient transport and assist with positioning during procedures.
• Assist with endoscopy prep, room setup, and turnover to maintain workflow.
• Ensure patient safety during electrocautery and decontamination per SGNA standards.
• Handle lab specimens and prepare/transport to the lab as required.
• Support RN/Charge Nurse/Manager during procedures and post-procedure care.
