Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Endoscopy Department. You will assist the physician in endoscopic procedures, maintain supplies, clean and disinfect equipment, and provide patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

You will also perform clerical duties, assemble patient charts, maintain records, and complete patient charges, contributing to efficient ambulatory care operations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program preferred.
• Graduate of CNA/MA program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
• Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
• Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records and files, maintains order and cleanliness of the workstation.
• Completes charges for patients.

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
