Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Scope Processing Technician II responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and related equipment. You will follow strict protocols to maintain patient safety and participate in ongoing department improvements.

The role requires 2–3 years in OR/SPD/GI environments, Sterile Processing Certification, and readiness for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires high school or equivalent.
• Graduate of state approved Surgical Technology/Sterile Processing program.
• 2–3 years in an OR/SPD/GI environment.
• Sterile Processing Certification (HSPA/CBSPD) current.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire if no card at start.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates Endoscopes & Probes per IFU.
• Ensures equipment is covered before/after transfer to reprocessing area.
• Reprocesses Endoscopes using Automated Endoscopic Reprocessor (AER).
• Performs Chemical Monitoring of GUS System per HLD IFU.
• Keeps department clean, stocked, and organized during shift.
• Attends in-service and department meetings.
