Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation under supervision. This role supports OR operations and maintains documentation.

Candidates should have a Sterile Processing program or comparable experience, 1 year SPD experience, and certification. Strong knowledge of sterilization equipment and Windows OS is required; LA Fire Life Safety training within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program; if none, three years of SPD experience.
• 1 year Sterile Processing experience.
• Basic knowledge of Windows OS; ability to operate washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers.
• Current Sterile Processing Certification (HSPA, CBSPD) or CST/TS-C
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets following protocols and IFU.
• Disassemble instruments, clean, and load washers per IFU.
• Operate sterilization equipment and maintain related documentation.
• Dispense sterile instrumentation to proper locations; manage inventory.
• Coordinate with OR and other departments to resolve issues; train others.
• Prepare loads and ensure proper sterilization; document accordingly.
