Job summary

tms is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing GI and endoscopic procedures. The role includes pre-procedure preparation, assisting physicians, monitoring during sedation, and post-procedure recovery with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

Required ASN with RN licensure in the state of practice, BLS certification, and experience in endoscopy areas. ACLS and Moderate Sedation credentials are preferred per policy.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Moderate Sedation certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Recent Endoscopy/GI Lab/PACU/ICU/ER or procedural nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess patients before endoscopic procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and response to sedation throughout procedures.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and moderate sedation as appropriate.
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, recovery care, and patient education.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
