Job summary

BARNES-JEWISH WEST COUNTY HOSPITAL, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks an experienced RN for the Endoscopy department. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, and coordinate care with the interprofessional team.

Role emphasizes patient education, safety, and documentation of care plans within regulatory standards. Endoscopy suite includes a NP, RNs and technicians under supervision.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and post-treatment home care.
• Develops and documents plans of care in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Ensures communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in safety, quality and regulatory activities and in professional development.
• Develops, implements and documents plans of care with defined goals with the team.
