Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Endoscopy unit. You will provide patient-centered care, assist physicians during procedures, and coordinate post-procedure education.

The role requires 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience, current RN licensure, and strong knowledge of the nursing process. Endoscopy experience is a plus; a 5-day workweek with call may apply and student loan assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
• Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care in accordance with nursing process
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings
• Utilize knowledge of growth and development for age-appropriate care
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor side effects, and document administration
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency
• Collaborate to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care
• Maintain infection control protocols and safety standards
• Operate and monitor medical equipment as needed
• Engage in audits and compliance checks; maintain records
• Endoscopy RN: assess needs, obtain consent, prep patient, monitor vitals
• Provide post-procedure care and aftercare education
• Ensure endoscopy room readiness and equipment functionality
• Performs other duties as assigned
