Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy department to provide high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art setting. The role includes medication administration, procedure support, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Schedule: Full Time; RN license required with Endoscopy experience preferred. ACLS/BCLS are mandatory; PALS may be preferred and obtained within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current Nursing License is required.
• Endoscopy experience preferred.
• ACLS and BCLS are required; PALS may be preferred and must be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
