Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Endoscopy department. Join a patient-centered team delivering diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services in a safe, compassionate environment.

The RN will plan and administer care, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure quality outcomes. A nursing license and Endoscopy experience are preferred; 30-day onboarding for certain certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Nursing License is required.
• Some Endoscopy experience preferred.
• BCLS and ACLS are required.
• PALS and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
