Job summary

CHOC Children's in Orange, California is seeking a Surgical Scrub Tech for the Procedure Center. The role supports endoscopic and surgical procedures as the primary scrub, handling instruments and supplies under RN and surgeon supervision.

The candidate will have at least two years of Endoscopy Technician experience, a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and ideally a Surgical Technology program background. This is a full-time day shift (10 hours) with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of Endoscopy Technician experience.
• Two years of Operating Room experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Completion of Endoscopy orientation and/or surgery orientation programs.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary scrub person during endoscopic and surgical procedures.
• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the physician/surgeon to ensure safe patient care.
• Precept new Technicians and students in the department.
• Take emergency on-call responsibilities.
