Job summary

CHOC Children's in Orange, California seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesia services across the medical center. You will assist in case preparation, induction, extubation, and turnover, working with the anesthesia and surgical teams.

Minimum one year of hospital anesthesia experience is required. High School Diploma/GED is required; BLS is required; Anesthesia Tech Certification preferred. The role is part-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of anesthesia experience in a hospital setting.
• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques to provide sterile hands-on assistance.
• Familiar with the functioning and requirements of a surgical suite and the processes and requirements of anesthesia care.
• Demonstrate ability to utilize and maintain a wide variety of health care equipment.
• Demonstrate skill to respond quickly and efficiently in fast paced environment.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• The Anesthesia Technician provides anesthesia support services throughout the medical center in conjunction with surgical and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia.
• Will function as a member of the anesthesia and surgical team.
• Assists in case preparation, induction, extubation, technical and functional support, and case turnover of rooms between procedures.
