Job summary

CHOC Children's in Orange, California seeks a Surgical Scrub Technician II to support the OR team under RN/physician supervision. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during endoscopic and surgical procedures, and may assist OB cases; you will also precept students and respond to on-call needs.

The role requires at least 2 years as a Surgical Technician, BLS, and a high school diploma or GED; OR experience is preferred and Endoscopy/surgery orientation is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of Surgical Technician experience.
• Two years of Operating Room experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program or military service training preferred.
• Completion of Endoscopy orientation program or surgery orientation program required.
• Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner; excellent communication skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Operating Room Tech National Certification or Certified Surgical Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary scrub person; handles instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Prepares and sets up equipment for endoscopic and surgical procedures.
• Assists in OB procedures when needed.
• May precept new technicians and students; participates in on-call duties.
