Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support patient care during procedures, transport, and room setup. You will assist the RN, handle specimens, and ensure safety and documentation throughout the endoscopy suite.

The role requires a high school education or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, CPR certification, and strong communication and organizational skills to deliver quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year related experience; patient care preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and basic software use.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient patient transport and assist with positioning and basic care during procedures.
• Assist under RN guidance; set up rooms and equipment to facilitate turnover.
• Ensure patient safety during electrocautery with proper grounding and equipment function.
• Handle lab specimens with proper labeling and transportation to the Lab.
• Practice SGNA-aligned decontamination and high-level disinfection; maintain clean work areas.
• Communicate pertinent information to RN, Charge Nurse, Manager or Physician.
• Assist in pre- and post-procedure care; monitor vital signs and assist dressing as needed.
