Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Gastroenterology Associate certification within 18 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre‑inter, intra‑, and post‑procedure support for the endoscopy team, ensuring patient and family care appropriate to age; communicates findings to the nurse and hands off biopsies to the RN.
• Pre-cleans endoscopes, performs leak testing, disinfects with AER, and ensures proper storage.
• Assists the nurse with patient care including vital signs, monitors setup, supplies, and medications.
• Acts as a preceptor for new endoscopy techs and completes orientation for procedures (snare use, biopsies, supplies).
• Utilizes supplies and equipment properly, cleans and disinfects per protocol, manages inventory, and reports faulty equipment for repair.
• Admits, discharges, or transfers patients to and within the Endoscopy Center.
• Safely positions and transports patients to minimize risk and ensure correct procedure setup.

Education
