Job summary

Inova Loudoun Surgery Center in Leesburg, VA is hiring a Full-Time or Part-Time GI/Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopic procedures, focusing on equipment prep, patient care, and assisting clinicians.

The role requires at least one year of Endoscopy/GI Technician experience, completion of Endoscopy Technician Training, and BLS certification at start; familiarity with sterile processing and infection control is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience as an Endoscopy/GI Technician.
• Experience in an acute or ambulatory setting is desired.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Completion of Endoscopy Technician Training.
• SGAS/Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Advanced Program completion is a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start.
• Strong understanding of sterile processing and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and ensure high-level disinfection (HLD) of all endoscopic instruments and equipment.
• Procedure Assistance: Support the clinical team during endoscopic procedures by handing instruments to the physician and assisting with specimens.
• Patient Preparation and Post-Procedure Care: Prepare patients, provide support and comfort, assist with positioning and post-procedure room turnover.
• Infection Control and Safety Compliance: Follow infection control guidelines, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, rooms, and instruments.
• Documentation and Communication: Record procedure details, patient information, and instrument usage; communicate with staff to ensure workflow.
