Job summary

White Oak Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support GI procedures and patient care in a hospital setting. The role involves assisting physicians during endoscopy, maintaining sterile fields, and preparing rooms and equipment for procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 1 year of GI tech or surgical tech experience. A proactive, detail-oriented communicator will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one year of hospital GI Tech experience or one year of surgical tech experience highly preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia preferred.
• Completion of GI or Operating Room Technician courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician endoscopy procedures; anticipate instruments and supplies.
• Collect patient biopsies and specimens; maintain sterile field.
• Restock supplies and prepare room before and after procedures.
• Instruct patients as directed by physician.
• Schedule procedures and follow-ups.
• Ensure all equipment/instruments are disinfected and safe per policy.
