Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Patient Representative at our Endocrinology clinic located at 6119 US Highway 11, Canton, NY. This full-time role (40 hours/week) involves coordinating patient encounters, documenting in EMR, and supporting the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will handle scheduling, referrals, insurance inquiries, and billing support while adhering to hospital policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical training and/or certification
• Formal education beyond High School
• Minimum of 1-year recent outpatient medical office experience
• Knowledge in electronic health record (EHR / EMR) usage and medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Patient Care Support & Communication: Assist providers by supporting patient encounters, ensuring accurate documentation in EMRs, and maintaining open communication with the care team, patients, and caregivers.
• Administrative & Scheduling Duties: Manage clerical tasks such as scheduling, referrals, phone communication, record preparation, and collection of payments. Help maintain efficient patient schedules and support billing and insurance inquiries.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and DNV accreditation standards. Collaborate with management to resolve clerical issues and enhance patient service quality.
• Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with St. Lawrence Health System and PPM teams on daily operations, educational programs, and process improvements. Participate in special projects and promote the organization’s mission and core values.
