Job summary

RiseMe in Atlanta, GA seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily clinical laboratory operations for an endocrinology practice, ensuring accurate testing, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow. The role involves managing personnel, the Download Department, and coordinating with the Director and leadership to meet quality and safety standards.

Three+ years of supervisory lab experience and MLS/MT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field is required.
• MLS/MT certification (ASCP, AMT) or equivalent is required.
• Must meet CLIA personnel qualification requirements for designated role.
• Minimum three years of clinical laboratory experience; supervisory/management experience.
• Strong knowledge of lab operations, QC/QA, competency, proficiency testing, CLIA, OSHA, safety, and regulatory documentation.
• Working knowledge of EHR/LIS systems and standard business software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee specimen collection, processing, testing, result reporting, and daily laboratory workflow.
• Ensure waived and non-waived testing is performed per SOPs, manufacturer requirements, and regulations.
• Develop and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, logs, forms, QC/QA, and proficiency testing processes.
• Review QC, maintenance, calibration, testing, and corrective-action documentation; investigate discrepancies and equipment issues.
• Monitor laboratory performance, turnaround times, service quality, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain CLIA documentation, licenses, permits, and inspection-readiness records.
• Coordinate LIS functionality, data integrity, and IT-related needs with IT and vendors.
• Train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate laboratory staff; coordinate with HR and leadership.
