SIU Medicine in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a full-time faculty member to engage in clinical and educational activities within the division of endocrinology. Responsibilities include direct teaching of academic fellows and residents, managing consultations, and contributing to departmental administration.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed specialty training in endocrinology, and possess board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to excellence in clinical care and teaching.

Qualifications

• Sensitivity to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
• Graduate of an accredited medical school program.
• Graduate of a formal specialty training program in Endocrinology.
• Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligible for such.
• Diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology or eligible for such.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois or eligible for such certification.
• Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
• Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.

Responsabilités

• Assume divisional and departmental administrative responsibility as directed by the Division Chief.
• Supervise fellows, residents, and medical students during patient encounters.
• Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars for educational sessions.
• Complete inpatient and outpatient consultations by request.
• Participate in university and hospital committees.
