Medical City Lewisville is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our operating room team. The role emphasizes patient-centered perioperative care, education for patients and families, and collaboration with surgeons, technicians, and nurses to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The position requires RN licensure, an Associate degree, and certifications (ACLS/BCLS/PALS) within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

• RN license with state requirements.
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications required within specified timelines.
• No travel required; typically requires 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team in the OR.
• Apply nursing process, clinical judgment, and leadership to safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about the medical condition and follow-up.
