Referment is partnering with a leading technology-driven investment firm to hire an End User Technology Engineer to join its global Technology team in New York.
This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-performance trading environment where technology is fundamental to the success of the business. You'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional technology experience to front-office users while contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's end-user infrastructure, automation, and operational processes.
This is far more than a traditional desktop support role, you'll be involved in engineering, automation, project delivery, and service improvement within a business that invests heavily in technology.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver a first-class end-user technology experience across trading, investment, and corporate teams.
- Provide hands‑on support for desktops, laptops, collaboration platforms, mobile devices, and video conferencing technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues in a fast-moving environment.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and tooling to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Design and implement improvements to end-user technology, support processes, and operational workflows.
- Lead and contribute to technology refreshes, office deployments, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
- Own incidents through to resolution, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term improvements.
- Develop technical documentation, knowledge articles, and user training materials to improve technology adoption.
- Partner with engineering teams, infrastructure specialists, and third‑party vendors to deliver technology initiatives.
- Participate in an on‑call rota and provide support for critical business events when required.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience supporting end‑user technology within a demanding enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops, collaboration technologies, mobile devices, and video conferencing platforms.
- Previous experience supporting front‑office users within financial services, hedge funds, investment banking, or trading environments.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, electronic trading platforms, or financial market technology would be highly beneficial.
- Experience automating operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, application, networking, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience working with enterprise service management and incident management platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support senior stakeholders in a high‑pressure environment.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continually improving technology and the user experience.
