Job summary

Effingham County is seeking an IT support specialist to provide first-level and intermediate assistance for county computers, peripherals, and accounts. You will diagnose routine issues, document resolutions, and escalate more complex incidents when needed.

The role requires an Associate degree in IT or related field and about one year of technical-support experience, with a focus on user training and secure practices. Occasional after-hours work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• One year of relevant technical-support experience preferred.
• Entry-level certifications in endpoint/service desk/networking are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level and intermediate IT support for county computers and peripherals.
• Document tickets and resolutions in approved systems.
• Install and configure approved software and devices per procedures.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, accounts, printing, email, and basic connectivity.
• Provide end-user training on productivity applications and security practices.
