Job summary

Doist is seeking a Consultant, Payroll Operations to provide hands-on payroll and HR operations support for a portfolio of growing businesses. You will own recurring payroll processing, benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and multi-state payroll tax registrations while collaborating with clients to keep payroll accurate, on time, and scalable.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in payroll administration, payroll operations, HR operations, or benefits administration.
• Hands-on payroll experience with federal, state, and local tax, multi-state registrations and compliance.
• Experience implementing or supporting payroll and HRIS platforms (Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Paychex, or similar).
• Benefits and onboarding/offboarding across HRIS and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll cycle end to end for a portfolio of clients, including inputs, configurations, testing, and compliance.
• Administer benefits programs and HR operations, including 401(k) and open enrollment.
• Serve as primary client contact across payroll, benefits, and HR; document processes and drive workflow improvements.
