Job summary

Connect Search, LLC seeks an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to manage the full-cycle billing for assigned attorneys and client matters. You will compile time entries, prepare prebills, and handle transfers and adjustments while ensuring compliance with client guidelines.

You will work with attorneys, paralegals, and clients, submitting invoices electronically using LEDES formats and traditional methods, and resolving billing discrepancies in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm.
• Experience with LEDES billing.
• Experience with electronic billing submissions.
• Experience managing prebills/proformas and attorney billing.
• Understanding of client-specific billing guidelines.
• Experience handling billing adjustments, rejections, and appeals.
• Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple billing deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and a service-oriented approach.
• Ability to work effectively with attorneys and other legal professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle legal billing process for assigned attorneys and client matters.
• Compile and review attorney and paralegal time entries and expenses per client cycles.
• Prepare, review, and edit prebills/proformas, including narratives and adjustments.
• Process transfers, write-downs, write-offs, split bills, and corrections.
• Apply advance and trust funds accurately to client invoices.
• Prepare and submit invoices electronically using LEDES formatting and traditional methods.
• Review invoices for compliance with client guidelines, rates, and internal procedures.
• Prepare and upload matter budgets through client e-billing platforms.
• Monitor electronic billing submissions and resolve rejections, reductions, and appeals.
• Research and troubleshoot billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, clients, and accounting teammates.
• Maintain accuracy while handling a high-volume, deadline-driven workload.
