Job summary

Story in the SF Bay Area is hiring a Fullstack Filmmaker who can take a project from idea to final film. You’ll develop concepts, plan productions, direct, shoot, and edit across Story’s work.

Some projects you’ll own end to end; others you’ll lead alongside a producer. This role requires experience across production stages, strong client communication, and the ability to contribute from concept through edit.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating work across multiple production stages.
• Experience directing, shooting, and editing.
• Experience managing client relationships.
• Willingness to complete a paid test project.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Degrees not required; work speaks for itself.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative concepts from brief to execution.
• Plan productions, including budgets, schedules, talent, and locations.
• Direct and shoot across a range of projects and formats.
• Edit your own work or guide an editor through post-production.
• Coordinate with VFX artists and other production collaborators.
• Lead client calls, present ideas, and manage relationships throughout a project.
• Manage multiple projects while keeping quality and delivery on track.
