Story in the SF Bay Area is hiring a Fullstack Filmmaker who can take a project from idea to final film. You’ll develop concepts, plan productions, direct, shoot, and edit across Story’s work.

We're hiring a Fullstack Filmmaker who can take a project from the first idea to the final film. You'll develop concepts, plan productions, direct, shoot, and edit across Story's work. Some projects you'll own end to end; others you'll lead alongside a producer. This is an experienced role for someone who understands the whole process and can step in wherever the work needs them.
Develop creative concepts from the initial brief through execution.
Plan productions, including budgets, schedules, talent, and locations.
Direct and shoot across a range of projects and formats.
Edit your own work or guide an editor through post-production.
Coordinate with VFX artists and other production collaborators.
Lead client calls, present ideas, and manage relationships throughout a project.
Manage multiple projects while keeping quality and delivery on track.
Portfolio demonstrating work across multiple stages of production.
Professional experience directing, shooting, and editing.
Experience managing client relationships.
Ability to complete a paid test project.
Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
Degrees not required. Your work speaks for itself.
Experience shooting with Sony FX cameras.
Strong visual storytelling instincts from concept through edit.
Confidence leading both a production team and a client conversation.
Resourcefulness when a project needs a different approach.
A collaborative mindset and comfort taking ownership.
