Job summary

Story in the SF Bay Area is hiring a Video Editor to shape footage into compelling films across Story's client work. You'll edit documentary-style pieces, brand spots, narrative projects, and commercials, owning the edit from assembly through finishing, bringing a strong sense of story, pacing, and rhythm to every project.

You'll work closely with directors, producers, and clients, translating notes into clear editorial decisions, and you'll own finishing through color and sound,

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of editing work.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve.
• Ability to complete a paid test edit.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Degrees not required; your work speaks for itself.

Responsibilities

• Edit across documentary, brand, narrative, and commercial formats.
• Work with directors and producers from the first assembly through final delivery.
• Incorporate feedback, explore new approaches, and maintain quality under deadlines.
• Present work to clients and translate their notes into clear editorial decisions.
• Own finishing through color and sound, collaborating with VFX artists when needed.
• Maintain organized project files, media, and delivery assets.
