Job summary

LINX Multimedia in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Audio Visual Project Engineer to own design intent and deliver complex commercial AV systems on time and within budget. You will coordinate with clients, vendors and internal teams from design through installation, ensuring the technical reality matches the original intent.

You will create shop drawings, review data sheets, manage multiple projects, and provide technical oversight during installation and commissioning, while staying current with AV

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in professional AV integration or a construction-related field.
• AVIXA CTS certification.
• Intermediate to advanced computer modeling; AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with Bluebeam and creating markups.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow and design.
• Experience installing commercial-grade AV systems.
• Ability to read construction drawings and create shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own design intent across assigned projects and align stakeholders.
• Lead complex issues, anticipate problems, and manage risks.
• Manage timelines and milestones across concurrent projects.
• Create shop drawings, floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and diagrams.
• Translate designs into complete drawing packages and validate data sheets.
• Generate RFIs and Change Orders as needed.
• Maintain CAD/drafting standards and improve them.
• Conduct site walks and customer meetings.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
• Provide technical oversight during installation, configuration, and calibration.
• Troubleshoot complex AV issues and stay current with industry trends.
