Job summary

LINX Multimedia in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Audio Visual Project Engineer to manage complex commercial AV systems from design through implementation. You will work with clients and project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high standards.

Responsibilities include creating drawings, reviewing equipment datasheets, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and guiding the installation and calibration of AV systems. A CTS and CAD skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in professional audio/video integration or a construction-related field.
• AVIXA CTS certification or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam; ability to create shop drawings and markups.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, equipment, and system integration.
• Experience coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Own design intent across assigned projects; align stakeholders and adapt as needs evolve.
• Lead complex issues and anticipate problems; manage risks before field impact.
• Manage timelines and milestones across concurrent projects; plan backward from dates.
• Create drawing submittals for AV packages (floor plans, RCPs, elevations, diagrams) and perform calculations.
• Translate designs into complete drawing packages and review equipment data sheets for compatibility.
• Generate RFIs and Change Orders as needed.
• Maintain CAD drafting standards and improve workflows.
• Conduct site walks and customer meetings; coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Provide technical oversight during installation, configuration, and calibration of AV systems.
