Job summary

State Street is seeking a security-minded Platform Engineer to design and support enterprise encryption and key management services across cloud and on-prem environments. You will collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to onboard use cases, automate operations, and ensure scalable, compliant security in a fast-paced setting.

Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and secure coding practices is valued, with opportunities to influence enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, platform engineering, or related tech roles.
• Experience with encryption, key management, secrets management, or cloud security solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience scripting/automation in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, or Go.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and service-based architectures.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Harness, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, or similar SCM.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or cloud-native services desirable.
• Understanding of Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architectures a plus.
• Security frameworks and risk management knowledge.
• Familiarity with KMS/Secrets management tools such as AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, or GCP KMS preferred.
• Industry certifications (AWS/Security, CISSP) a plus.
• Experience in regulated industries or financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and ongoing enhancement of encryption and key management services across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Onboard new use cases and integrate centralized encryption capabilities into business solutions.
• Design and implement self-service capabilities, automation, and operational processes for scalable encryption services.
• Define and maintain service documentation, onboarding procedures, and runbooks.
• Integrate with centralized key management platforms and cloud-native key management services.
• Monitor service performance and coordinate resolution of issues.
• Support compliance with cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in evaluations and automation initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Guide development and infrastructure teams on encryption best practices and service consumption.
