Job summary

State Street is seeking an Encryption Engineer (DevSecOps & SDLC) to embed encryption and key management into SDLC and pipelines, enabling secure-by-default solutions at scale. The role blends software engineering, automation, cloud, and cybersecurity to standardize cryptographic practices enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering, DevSecOps, platform/cloud engineering or related.
• Experience integrating security controls into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiar with encryption technologies, key management, and data protection controls.
• Experience with automation tools like Jenkins and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and container tech (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Certs such as CISSP/CCSP or cloud security certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embed enterprise encryption and key management into SDLC, DevSecOps pipelines, and platform patterns.
• Design secure-by-default encryption capabilities for application teams.
• Develop reusable automation, APIs, templates, and IaC modules to speed encryption adoption.
• Integrate key management, secrets, certificates, and encryption services into developer workflows.
• Define automated guardrails and policy-driven controls across the SDLC.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, cloud, and architecture teams to enforce crypto standards.
