Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide Basic Life Support for both emergency and non‑emergency requests, ensuring safe, timely transport and professional patient care across diverse settings.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, adherence to NJ regulations, and the ability to work with police, fire, ALS and hospitals. NJ EMT certification or NR EMT with reciprocity is required, plus valid driver’s license and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-200, ICS-700 and IS-800 courses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Provide BLS services for emergency and non-emergency requests and transport patients.
• Coordinate with police, fire, EMS and other healthcare providers.
• Complete patient care reports and maintain required documentation.
• Maintain PPE and comply with NJ regulations and HMH protocols.
