Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking an EMT-B for emergency medical transport and pre-hospital care. You will provide BLS-level care, operate ambulances, document patient information, and coordinate with hospital staff and EMS teams.

The role requires EMT-B certification, EVOC, and a current PA driver’s license. Candidates should be able to work rotating shifts and travel between Independence Health System locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking.
• EMT-B certification and PA EVOC required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
• PA Driver's License required (out-of-state hires must obtain PA license within 30 days).
• Act 33/34 clearances and Act 73 FBI clearance with renewal.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic life support and emergency pre-hospital care.
• Operates emergency vehicles and ensures timely transports.
• Responds to emergencies; coordinates with EMS staff and hospital teams.
• Documents patient care and required paperwork accurately.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment in working order and reports issues.
