Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. seeks an EMT-Paramedic to provide pre-hospital and inter-hospital emergency patient care at the ALS level in Pennsylvania. You will complete documentation within 24 hours and operate emergency vehicles under state law.

Shifts range 2–24 hours weekly totaling up to 48 hours; a sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered for full-time criteria. Strong customer service and adherence to hospital policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Valid PA Department of Health Certification as an ALS provider, and remain eligible for medical command authorization.
• Maintain current successful course completion at all times in Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Prehospital Trauma/Basic Trauma Life Support.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must not have been convicted within the last four years of DUI or last two years for reckless driving; no license suspension.
• EVOC completed.
• HAZMAT R&I training within one year of employment.
• Meet all PA DOH requirements.
• Good customer service skills and cooperative communication with staff and external organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-hospital, emergency patient care within the scope of practice of an EMT-Paramedic in PA.
• Completes patient care documentation within 24 hours per DOH guidelines.
• Operates emergency vehicles per PA laws.
• Performs routine inspections, inventory, and maintenance of patient care equipment.
• Performs station duties as assigned.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures; complies with Corporate Compliance policy.
• Reports to Shift Supervisor; no direct supervision listed.
