Job summary

Elevate Energy Consulting seeks a Senior/Lead/Principal Engineer to lead EMT studies, model development, and reliability analyses for high IBR penetration and large loads. You will translate complex results into actionable insights for planning and operations.

The role requires 5+ years in EMT analysis, strong modeling skills (PSCAD, PSS/E, E-TRAN), and excellent communication. This is a fully remote role with some travel, supporting North American clients.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power systems and EMT studies.
• 5+ years of professional experience in transmission planning and EMT studies with a focus on EMT analysis.
• Experience performing EMT studies and phasor-domain transient stability analysis.
• Experience using power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and E-TRAN; familiarity with data analysis and automation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in the face of uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute EMT studies to evaluate system reliability, stability, and performance under high IBR penetration and with large loads.
• Develop, maintain, and validate detailed power system models across PSCAD, E-TRAN, PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT; perform model checks.
• Perform model benchmarking and validation across simulation models; verify IBR and large load models.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings, recommendations, and next steps to clients.
• Manage project execution across multiple clients with timelines and deliverables.
