Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Analytical Engineering Consultant specializing in EMT analysis of power systems. The position offers a hybrid/flexible schedule with on-site and remote work.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in time-domain calculations for TOV, TRV, Switching Studies, insulation coordination, and proficiency in PSCAD or EMTP-RV, with 10+ years of related experience and a Master’s/PhD preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems background.
- Advanced degree preferred (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed electrical analysis using time-domain techniques to evaluate system performance.
- Perform complex calculations for TOV, TRV, switching studies, and insulation coordination.
- Develop and implement solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting findings, recommendations and design changes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to time-domain analysis.
