Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Burleson, TX. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor safety, and assist with medical guidance under Center Manager and Center Physician directions.

Role requires EMT-Paramedic certification, CPR/AED, and clinical experience; regulatory knowledge in plasma collection and EHS guidance is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic (state where responsibilities will be assigned).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Fulfill FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs; manage medical emergencies and donor transport per standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
