Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Mentor, OH seeks a part-time Medical Support Specialist to assure donor eligibility, monitor safety, and support plasma center operations under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Role requires state nursing or emergency medical licensure (EMT/RN/LPN), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years of clinical experience. FDA training for BioLife Medical Support is required.

Qualifications

• State-licensed healthcare professional with CPR/AED certification.
• Current licensure to practice in the responsible state (OH).
• Clinical experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Training in plasma center operations or equivalent FDA-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, medical history, and physical exam.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Possible Pandemic Coordinator responsibilities as directed.

Education

EMT-B / EMT-A / EMT-I / EMT-P Licensure (State-specific)

LPN / LVN or RN Licensure

CPR + AED Certification

Two years clinical/hospital experience

Basic IV therapy qualifications
