Job summary

UPMC | GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care centers with patient intake, exam preparation, and care coordination.

You will register patients, take vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, assist clinicians, and maintain clean exam rooms while upholding our culture of care and patient experience.

The role offers a minimum $17/hour with monthly incentives and opportunities for MA certification and clinical training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Several MA certs accepted if MA certification not yet obtained.
• 1+ years MA experience or related clinical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary assessments.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Coordinate referrals and answer patient questions.
• Perform opening/closing duties and equipment checks.
