Job summary

UPMC | GoHealth Urgent Care in Rankins Corners, PA invites applications for a Medical Assistant. The role supports a fast-paced urgent care setting, performing clinical and front-desk tasks to deliver efficient patient care and a smooth patient experience.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, with preference for Medical Assisting training and MA experience. BLS is required; certification options are listed if not held at hire.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience preferred; front desk or patient registration helpful.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Perform opening/closing duties and equipment checks.
