Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Joliet, IL is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (EMT-Paramedic) for part-time, night and weekend coverage. You will determine donor eligibility, review medical history, perform basic assessments, and support donor safety under Center Manager supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus graduate of a recognized nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the relevant state.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, consent, medical history, physical exam, blood testing, and review SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
