Job summary

Blanchard-Valley-Health-System (HANCO EMS) seeks an EMT to deliver pre-hospital and trauma care within their certified scope in accordance with Medical Director protocols and state/federal laws.

The EMT will perform scene surveys, triage, transport, and complete reports while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, training, and staying current with procedures.

Qualifications

• Ohio division of EMS EMT certification.
• CPR within 30 days.
• Valid driver’s license with BVHS fleet policy requirements.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Out-of-state EMTs must reciprocity to ODPS certification.
• Within 6 months: NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 & IS-800 and HazMat Awareness.
• Within 1 year: CEVO certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-hospital and trauma care within certification scope.
• Perform scene survey, triage, extrication, stabilization, transport and communication.
• Complete reports accurately and maintain patient privacy.
• Record data into Ohio State Reporting program.
• Restock supplies and ensure equipment is returned.
• Sanitize and disinfect transport vehicle and equipment as needed.
• Participate in debriefings and stay updated on pre-hospital procedures and regulations.
• Attend monthly trainings or CEU classes to maintain certification.
• Perform daily and weekly vehicle inspections and know equipment locations on each unit.
• Be proficient with all equipment on response vehicles and Mobile Intensive Care unit.
• Participate in building/grounds maintenance.

Education

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification

Current Healthcare Provider CPR within 30 days

Valid Ohio driver’s license

Interpersonal and communication skills
