Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks an EMT I to provide essential pre-hospital care and transportation within the EMS team. You will work under a Paramedic or clinical leader, maintain equipment, document patient information, and support safety and communication.

The role requires EMT training, a state EMT certification, and CPR/BLS. Experience in hospital ED, ambulance, or critical care transport is preferred, with reliable attendance and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved EMT training program.
• EMT Advanced course preferred.
• Experience in hospital ED, ambulance, or critical care transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care and transportation per state scope and policies.
• Assist with patient assessment and vital sign monitoring under supervision.
• Perform first aid, CPR, wound care, bleeding control, and immobilization.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely per hospital policy and traffic laws.
• Conduct shift equipment checks and restock supplies as needed.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR per guidelines.
• Communicate escalation of concerns through correct chain of command.
