Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System seeks an Advanced EMT to deliver pre-hospital and trauma care within the scope of their certification. They will work within BVHS-approved medical protocols while adhering to state and federal laws, and support EMS operations in the Findlay area.

The role requires Ohio AEMT certification, CPR, and ITLS/PHTLS readiness, with ongoing training including NIMS and HazMat awareness; candidates must meet BVHS driver and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ohio State AEMT certification required and CPR current.
• Reciprocity may be needed for out-of-state AEMT credentials.
• ITLS/PHTLS within 6 months and NIMS IS-100/200/700/800 training.
• HazMat Awareness and CEVO within stipulated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-hospital and trauma care per certification scope and protocols.
• Document runs accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Restock supplies and verify equipment on scene and return.
• Sanitize/ disinfect vehicle and equipment after calls as required.
• Participate in debriefings and ongoing pre-hospital updates.
• Perform daily/weekly vehicle inspections and equipment location checks.
• Engage in monthly trainings and CEU classes for licensure.
• Adhere to age-specific care principles and growth/development needs.
• Follow all state and federal laws and BVHS policies.
• Meet driving record criteria and BVHS fleet requirements.
• Assist in building/grounds maintenance as needed.
