Job summary

Requirements include High School or GED, Virginia EMT certification and/or National Registry, BLS. ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Current Virginia EMT Certification and/or National Registry required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• ACLS, PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and medical staff with patient care procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and start IVs; label specimens properly.
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection with proper labeling.
• Maintain infection control and hospital safety standards.
• Facilitate communication between patient care areas and families.
• Operate hospital information systems for clerical tasks.
