Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking an EMT-Basic to join the EMS department at the East side of St. Paul, MN. This 1.0 FTE position requires working days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to support the community.

The EMT-B will provide BLS transport during inter-facility transfers and 911 calls, with ongoing training to support ALS capabilities and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certification required and maintained.
• EMT-Basic (EMT-B) certification from MN EMS Regulatory Board or equivalent.
• EMT-Basic (NR) certification required or eligible for registry.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record per EMS insurability rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide BLS transport care for inter-facility transfers and 911 responses.
• Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and department procedures.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR or equivalent system.

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an EMT/Basic Life Support to join our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department at our location on the East side of St Paul, MN!

• 1.0 FTE (80 hour every two weeks)

We do this by providing more than 60,000 calls annually using our innovative equipment. Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most expert Paramedics and EMTs in the region, helping to make M Health Fairview a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service.

In the EMT role, we will provide BLS transport care to patients during inter-facility transfers and 911 calls, with continuous and dynamic training to provide ALS support.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of, and aligns with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
• We actively participate in crafting and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes.
• Documents information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
• We safely and efficiently transfers care of patients to other care providers in appropriate setting (LTC, Hospital etc)
• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
• We partner with patient care giver in care/decision making, Communicates in a respective manner, Ensures a safe, secure environment.
• Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs, Modifies clinical interventions based on population served, Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.
• Complies with all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR)
• Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) from MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board
• Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) from National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• Valid drivers license and DMV record that meets M Health Fairview EMS insurability requirements

Qualifications

$23.45 - $31.30 per hour based on qualifying step level
