Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Paramedic to join the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team in St Paul, MN. The role offers a 1.0 FTE schedule with days/evenings/nights and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

You will provide ALS/BLS transport, respond to 911 emergencies, and collaborate with a skilled care team in a leading MN health system. The Paramedic will perform on-scene care, operate in various teams (Events, S.W.A.T., Bike), and participate in ongoing learning with tuition reimbursement and

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification required and current with EMSRB/NREMT.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or current.
• EMT-P certification preferred with NREMT certification where applicable.
• Valid driver's license with DMV record meeting insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in improvements to achieve clinical quality and patient experience outcomes.
• Respond to 911 emergencies with ALS/BLS transport care and facility transports.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and care team members.
• Maintain high standards of care and documentation in EHR or other systems.

The Paramedic will provide ALS/BLS transport care to patients. Responds to 911 medical emergencies to sustain life at the scene and transport to a medical facility until care is assumed by a physician. Provides inter-facility emergent and non-emergent transports.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes.
• Responds to and provides appropriate on scene medical care to patients during 911 medical emergencies, medical facility transports and non-emergent transports.
• Provides effective and accurate communication with patients, families, physicians and other members of the care team.
• Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality and an excellent patient experience.
• Perform and have knowledge of ACLS, Disaster Management, AHA CPR and HAZ-MAT Awareness.
• Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
• Remains in good standing with the HEMT office of the Medical Director.

Required Qualifications

• Experience driving a medical transport vehicle
• Certified Paramedic, current with EMSRB and NREMT
• ACLS
• BLS American Health Association for Healthcare Providers
• EMT-P
• EMT-P-NREMT
• Valid drivers license and DMV record that meets the M Health Fairview EMS insurability requirements
