Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to support donor safety and plasma collection operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor events, review test results, and coordinate with physicians for medical issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN
• CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance
