Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring an EMT-Basic for Emergency Medical Services in Worcester, MA. This full-time, on-site position requires 40 hours per week across mixed shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a).

The EMT will respond to calls, stabilize patients, transport to care facilities, and document care per DOT/NHTSA protocols. Requirements include MA EMT certification, CPR, valid driver's license, and urban EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Certification as Emergency Medical Technician (Massachusetts Department of Public Health).
• CPR - Basic Rescue certification (Red Cross or AHA).
• Valid driver license.
• Experience in accident scene management.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers skilled medical care per EMT protocols.
• Exams, assesses, and stabilizes patients at the scene.
• Responds to emergency situations and provides on-scene control.
• Documents care and prepares patients for transport.
• Operates and maintains EMS vehicle and equipment.
• Reports to dispatcher and coordinates with receiving facilities.
